Maria: "HolyHell is a concept that I started to develop several years before meeting Joey DeMaio. I wanted to incorporate a strong band of committed musicians that would combine melody and powerful metal; and with a lot of dedication and hard work it has finally come together.

In 2005 we were the guests of Manowar's "Demons, Dragons and Warriors World Tour." We traveled throughout the US, Canada and Europe performing in front of more than 17,000 people at the Czech "Masters Of Rock" and at the German "Earthshaker" Festival. It was very unusual for a band to tour without a record, but we wanted to get in front of a live audience and meet the metal fans, then bring that super positive energy back into the recording studio.

Thankfully we had an overwhelmingly positive response. In March 2007 we released our debut Single EP "Apocalypse" while appearing as the special guest on the second leg of Manowar's "Demons, Dragons, and Warriors Tour
." We were really shocked that people had remembered us, as well as our songs, and were actually waiting for us to get on stage.
We really had a tremendous welcome and response, and because of the fans the EP "Apocalypse" entered the German charts.
We are now in the process of finishing our debut album, and have a wonderful sense of strength and energy towards doing so from the fans. A big thanks to all of you for making it happen for us!!
Iceman: "Classic meets Metal - Often this is just a practice of bands. HolyHell unit hard beats with a female classic voice. How this coalition begun?

Maria: "I have a burning desire for heavy music combined with strong melody. When I met Joey it was immediately a perfect collaboration. We started seeking out songwriters and musicians to fit within the concept. This was a long search but well worth it. Imagine what it was like for me to hear and meet Rhino for the first time; It was incredible, his drumming is amazing. Then we came to Joe the "Shredlord" Stump it was the perfect fit and everything soon fell into place, to Francisco Palomo and the rest of the band, which are all amazing people as well as musicians.
Iceman: "Maria, it is still unusual that a woman is at the "pole position" in a metal band. What is the reason for you, with you're classic qualified voice, to go especially this way? Did your heart beaten for metal since a long time?

Maria: "Yes, as I stated above I have a burning desire for heavy music. I love energy and power combined with strong melody. The combination was something I longed for and it was perfect timing for my desires. I always knew that the purely classical approach to singing was not for me. I Knew, for me, metal was the only way..
Iceman: "Joey DeMaio wrote the Songs, produced them at Haus Wahnfried, Rhino is playing the Drums, we heard that you are the girlfriend / a good friend of Joey? So is it still a kind of "Manowar-Family", hm?

Maria: "I met Joey and explained what HolyHell meant to me and that I had dreams of being in a super band. He explained that a super band starts with super songs.
So it was a long time in finding good players and good songs. I worked at Magic Circle Music in order to learn as much as possible about the way records are made. I also wanted to learn how shows are produced in order to perform live. Magic Circle's commitment to the fans is the standard I live by.
Joey DeMaio is my producer and manager, and with all respect to him, that is more time spent with a driven perfectionist than anyone should ever have to bear!
Iceman: "Which kind of music or other factors takes the main influence of your work? Where you take the themes, to create new songs?

Maria: "Heaven and hell, angels and demons, life and death, good and evil, just living life each day provides inspiration for HolyHell. This is an endless concept for writing, as I believe everything in life is within these polarities. There is so much to explore lyrically and musically, "Apocalypse" is just the beginning!
Iceman: "In spring your were on tour with Manowar.
The next event will be the "Magic Circle Music - Festival in July. What is planned as next then? And what you do when you are not touring? ?

Maria: "After the festival we returned to the states with another great dose of energy to take back to the studio and now we are preparing to re enter the studio to complete the album. Our next show is the return to Kavarna, Bulgaria for New Years Eve as the Special Guest of the Metal Mayor. This is a great honor!
Iceman: "What wishes do you have for the future and what do you aim to do?

Maria: "As many shows as we can play all over the world. Recording, playing and meeting the fans, I can think of nothing better.
I actually have as much fun, if not more when the show is over and I get to go out into the crowd to sign autographs. Now that is an amazing experience.!
Iceman: "Will Holy Hell always keep their "style" or are there any other things you want to try out? Can you imagine for more guests musicians, like Eric Adams to perform the song "Phantom of the Opera", for example?

Maria: "We want to be the kind of band that listens to our fans and plays from the heart. We will never turn our backs on the metal fans, we are on Magic Circle Music, and metal is our life!!!
Iceman: "What is deep inside of Holy Hell's soul? Is there a special "message" you want to "transmit" to the fans?

Maria: "Deep inside HolyHells soul is a strong energy born from the fans of Heavy Music for the fans. It is used in the studio and put it into each show we have performed and then returns in ultimate form, reciprocation, better than anything I've ever known. .
Iceman: "Do you have any "strange" or funny story from "Life on the road"?

Maria: "We have many of them, but I think I would have to ask the members of the band if any stories would affect their home lives!
