on a cold and windy night ALICE COOPER brought his rocknroll theatre to birmingham and shook the nec arena to its foundations joan jett and the blackhearts and motorhead had rocked the baying crowd into a frenzy with the temperature at melting point in the front rows with shouts of ALICE, ALICE, ALICE drowning out the pa system and alice fans from around the uk jostling for position as the house lights go down and the curtain turns orange , a silhouette of alice appearing behind the curtain as a massive roar erupts around the arena  the curtain comes down and the ultimate rocknroll showman stands at the front of the stage as the band go straight into "its hot tonight" lead guitarist "keri kelli" shredding his gibson as alice prowls the front of the front stage like a horror movie on legs goading the frenzied crowd and using his cane to incite a rocking couldren  "no more mr nice guy" and "under my wheels" rip through the air and "im eighteen" sees bass player "chuck garric" come to the front of the stage with alice pushing him with his crutch and sneering at the crowd like a vision from the darkest depths of hell"be my lover" and "lost in america" fly past in a mass of riffs and thundering drums "woman of mass destruction" has alice pointing at women in the crowd and screaming "your a woman of mass destruction" with the now melting front rows raising there fists and bowing to the ringmaster of rocknroll   as alice is put into a straight jacket and led off stage by his hooded henchman guitarists "keri kelli" and "jason hook" and bassist "chuck garric" line up at the front of stage and shred there guitars to pieces,each player duelling with each other and throwing there arms into the air while drummer "eric singer" pounds his kit to pieces as the duelling guitarists battle each other in a orgy of riffing mayhem and reach a final crescendo... the the stage falls silent as the whole arena erupts with applause  the lights dim and alice appears at the top of the stage with a eerie sense of doom as he drawls the intro to "welcome to my nightmare" with ghouls and visions from your deepest nightmares crawling and dancing around the stage his depraved and bloodied sister crawls round his feet,her face a mass of blood and sin begging her master for attention but is thrown about the stage and finally gives into her masters wishes and her head is severed,alice standing in front of his deciples,the huge crowd bowing to there master the great showman meets his maker and is placed on the guillotine and led off stage,his face contorted with a sick sense of pleasure as he withdraws into the shadows with the crowd now a frenzied mass of bodies the first chords of "schools out" ring out lead guitarist "keri kelli" legs apart and shredding his guitar stands at the front centre,peeling off the lead riff as alice appears from behind the drum riser and every fist in the arena is punched into the air as alice works the crowd and spits out the words to the song everyone wants to hear his band members lining up at the front of the stage as the now hysterical,rocking crowd sing every word back to there rocknroll god  a brief pause ensues while the crowd take a breath before the band return in the shadows and tear into "poison" and "billion dollar babies" the crowd reaching fever pitch once more as alice walks along the front of stage inciting his diciples to raise there fists again and raise the temperature to melting point once more  final song "elected" is ripped apart and the band leave the stage with alice left alone,looking round the arena at his fans,his arms outstretched and the whole arena on there feet clapping and saluting the greatest rocknroll showman in the world review by badboyboogie  |
